9 Extras That Are Worth The Space In Your Diaper Bag

3. BLINKING and FUNNY LOOKING TOYS

Anything with lights, sounds, and some texture never fails to distract and divert toddlers’ attention.

Squeaky, shimmery, fluffy, rubbery, squishy, and smiley friends are always fun to bring along.

4. PARTY FAVORS

Whenever we attend parties, we don’t usually empty the loot bag and give everything to Mia. We always keep them for later.  She doesn’t need those all at the same time anyway. We remove a few toys and transfer it in our diaper bag.

After attending several birthday parties, you would have collected your 1-year supply of diaper bag toys.

5. FINGER PUPPETS

I recently saw this set of 10 animal puppets at National Bookstore. Just put it on their fingers or fit it in yours. Make the puppets talk and say Hi to your kid, and leave your hand extended on her table. Works wonders. Chitchat continued. 🙂

6. NEW SNACK

A new taste will keep them preoccupied and give you a few moments of undisturbed dinner conversation.

Bring something they haven’t tried before or something they seldom eat.

Just make sure the snack you’ve chosen has no ingredient your child hasn’t tried before.

7. TOY MIRROR

They are entertained with how they look! So it’s good to keep an unbreakable mirror handy. 🙂

Alternatively, you can give your phone and reverse the cam view. But then again there’s a 99% chance that your toddler drops it. Risky.

8. POCKET LIBRARY, CARRY-ALONG PLAYBOOKS, PLAY-A-SOUND BOOKS

You can never go wrong with books. Although I believe reading time is bonding time, it’s okay to once in a while leave them by themselves.

Look for thin board books with interesting pictures, carry-along playbooks, and play-a-sound books and your little one would be a busy bee for a while.

9. ART MATERIALS & ACTIVITIES

Some kid-friendly restaurants have these. But just in case they don’t, it would be great if you have a small notepad with you, a few crayons, stickers, or mini-coloring books.

I’m not sure how long Grab & Go Play packs have been around but it has all 3 in a resealable bag. It fits in side pockets and they are good to have especially if your child loves a particular character. I found this fun-sized pack at Japan Home.

That’s it. I hope this helps.

Again, just a reminder that some may not fully agree with the balloons and the key chains because of safety reasons. Please use your own discretion.

What would you add? What unusual things do you always bring when you’re out with baby?

If you liked this list, don’t forget to share the love to other parents you know. <3
